ในชั้นเรียนวิชาการออกแบบเสื้อผ้าและสิ่งทอ ของมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งหนึ่ง นักศึกษาต่างพูดคุยกันไม่สนใจอาจารย์ที่กำลังเดินเข้ามาในห้อง
อาจารย์ “หุบปาก”
น้ำเสียงอันทรงพลังของอาจารย์ ทำให้บรรยากาศในชั้นเรียนเงียบลงทันที
อาจารย์ “พวกเธอรู้ไหม การพูดมากเกินไปไม่ใช่เรื่องดี แล้วยังจะก่อให้เกิดเรื่องแย่ๆตามมาอีก”
นักศึกษาชาย “แย่ยังไง ครับอาจารย์”
อาจารย์ “มีตำนานเรื่องเล่าเกียวกับ ต้นบาวบับ อยู่หลายเรื่อง ต้นไม้รูปร่างประหลาด ที่ดูเหมือนกับต้นไม้กลับหัว ส่วนที่คล้ายกับรากอยู่ด้านบนชี้ขึ้นฟ้า ส่วนยอดราวกับถูกทิ่มให้ปักลงดิน”
“ตำนานหนึ่ง ในหลายเรื่องที่เล่าต่อๆกันมา…
ต้นบาวบับ เป็นต้นไม้ที่พูดมาก พูดแบบไม่ดูกาลเทศะ พูดเป็นต่อยหอย พูดไปเรื่อยจนน่ารำคาญ
พระเจ้าผู้สร้างสรรพสิ่งทนเสียงพูดของต้นบาวบับไม่ไหว จึงโยนต้นบาวบับลงมาจากฟากฟ้า หล่นกลับหัวมายังพื้นโลก ส่วนยอดปักลงใต้ดิน รากชี้ฟ้า ปากที่เคยพูดมากก็จมอยู่ใต้ดินเช่นกัน ตั้งแต่นั้นมาต้นบาวบับก็ไม่ส่งเสียงอีกเลย”
นักศึกษาหญิง “แล้วคนที่พูดมาก พระเจ้าจะลงโทษ ด้วยหรือค่ะอาจารย์
อาจารย์ “หากมนุษย์ ทำไม่ถูกต้องพระเจ้าก็ลงโทษเช่นเดียวกัน มีเรื่องหนึ่งจะเล่าให้พวกเธอฟัง”
นักศึกษา นิ่งเงียบเหมือนจะสนใจในเรื่องสัพเพเหระ มากกว่าเรื่องวิชาการ อาจารย์เห็นนักศึกษาแสดงอาการตั้งใจเป็นพิเศษ เลยถือโอกาสใช้เรื่องเล่านำเข้าสู่บทเรียน
อาจารย์ “นานมาแล้ว มนุษย์ไม่ได้มีรูปร่างเหมือนกับในปัจจุบันนี้ เรื่องนี้ไม่ได้เกี่ยวข้องกับทฤษฎี วิวัฒนาการเลย แต่เป็นการลงโทษของพระเจ้า…
ก่อนที่มนุษย์จะถูกพระเจ้าลงโทษ ส่วนหัวของมนุษย์อยู่ตรงกลางลำตัว ส่วนที่อยู่เหนือไหล่คืออวัยวะเพศ ในสมัยนั้นอวัยวะสืบพันธุ์เป็นของสวยงามเหมือนกับดอกไม้ ไม่น่าเกลียดเหมือนทุกวันนี้
ด้วยความมักมากในกามราคะ ไม่รู้จักกาละเทศะ มีความอยากในเรื่องอย่างว่าจนเกินพอดี เกินกว่าสัตว์ชนิดอื่นๆ ที่ยังมีฤดูผสมพันธุ์ แต่มนุษย์นั้นเหมือนจะไม่มีลิมิต อาจพูดได้ว่าเกินพอดีไปแล้ว
พระเจ้าผู้สร้างโลกเห็นว่าหาก มนุษย์เป็นเช่นนี้ต่อไปโลกนี้คงไม่น่าภิรมย์ จึงลงโทษมนุษย์ โดยเปลื่ยนให้อวัยวะที่เคยสวยงาม กลายเป็นของที่ไม่น่าพิสมัย น่าเกลียดน่ากลัว
แล้วย้ายอวัยวะสืบพันธ์ุ มาไว้ตรงกลางลำตัว ส่วนหัวก็เอามาไว้แทนที่อยู่บนไหล่
จากนั้นมามนุษย์ก็เริ่มมีความอาย จึงต้องปกปิดอวัยวะเพศโดยคิดหาเครื่องแต่งกายมาปกปิดส่วนนั้น
วันนี้เราจะมาเรียนเรื่องการออกแบบชุดชั้นในกัน
นักศึกษา “อาจารย์มีหลักฐานยืนยันเรื่องที่เล่าไหม ไม่เคยได้ยินมาก่อนเลยครับ”
อาจารย์ “มีหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ ที่ยังคงสังเกตเห็นได้ในทุกวันนี้…
สะดือ ก็คือส่วนหนึ่งของปากที่ใช้กินอาหาร ตอนที่พวกเราอยู่ในท้องแม่เราก็กินอาหารทางสะดือ ตอนพระเจ้าลงโทษคงย้ายไปพร้อมส่วนหัวไม่หมด ก็เลยยังคงอยู่ตรงกลางลำตัว
อีกส่วนก็คือ ผม พระเจ้าก็ไม่ได้ย้ายไปทั้งหมด ยังคงปรากฏให้เห็นอยู่ใต้สะดือในทุกวันนี้

In a fashion and textile design class at a university, students were talking to each other, ignoring the teacher who was walking into the room.

The God who created all things could not stand the baobab tree talking, so he threw the baobab tree down from the sky, falling upside down to the ground, the top of it stuck underground, the roots pointing skyward. The mouth that used to talk a lot was also buried underground. Since then, the baobab tree has not made a sound again.”
Female student: “Then will God punish people who talk a lot, teacher?”
Teacher: “If humans do not do the right thing, God will punish them as well. I have one story to tell you.”
The students were silent, as if they were more interested in Non-academic matters than academic matters. The teacher saw that the students were especially attentive, so he took the opportunity to use the story to introduce the lesson.
Teacher: “Long ago, humans were not as physically present as they are today. This has nothing to do with the theory of evolution, but it was God’s punishment…
Before humans were punished by God, the head of a human was in the middle of the body. The part above the shoulders was the genitals. At that time, the genitals were beautiful like flowers, not ugly like today…

God, the creator of the world, saw that if humans continued to be like this, the world would not be pleasant, so he punished humans by changing the genitals that were once beautiful into something unpleasant, ugly and scary…
Then move the reproductive organs to the middle of the body. The head moved to replace above the shoulder…
After that, humans began to feel shy, so they had to cover their genitals by thinking of clothing to cover that part…

Teacher: “There is empirical evidence that can still be observed today…
The navel is a part of the mouth used for eating food. When we were in our mother’s womb, we ate food through the navel. When God punished us, it probably didn’t move along with the head completely, so it remained in the middle of the body….
Another part is the hair. God didn’t move it completely. It still appears below the navel today.”
